practicebicycle.com is proud to offer you the fantastic and unique opportunity of being part of one of Australia's most spectacular sporting events; the Tour down Under.
Viewing and riding with our professional staff on the same roads, including the opportunity to participate in this years "Mutual Community Challenge Tour".
You will experience the European cycling scene here on our shores, with Adelaide and its surrounding area the idyllic environment to "practicebicycle" in Australia. This event is the first of our Trip Calender in 2009 and what a superb way to start your cycling year at the Tour down Under, a great opportunity for a holiday week of cycling in Australia with a small personalised group and fully supported by our experienced cycling staff regardless of your cycling ability.
The best professional bike riders in the world along with our own Australian professionals will participate in this first Pro Tour event of the International Racing Calendar, including the twilight spectacle the "Down Under Classic" a night not to be missed and you will be a part of the excitement and the action from the road side.
"practicebicycle.com - tour down under" has chosen a perfect location, ideally situated right in the heart of Adelaide CBD and the "Tour Village" where you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere amongst the riders, surrounded by great restaurants, cafes and shopping. The festivities and spectacle of the surrounding towns make this trip wonderful for the accompanying non-cycling partner.
With the option of participating in the "Mutual Community Challenge Tour" over the stage route from Burnside Village to Angaston along with many other cycling enthusiasts, you will feel like a pro whilst practicebicycle.com coaching staff support you throughout this great event.
Brief Trip Itinerary:
Sun 18th Jan - Arrive in Adelaide, welcome drinks & view "Down Under Classic" & Team Presentation.
Mon 19th Jan - Morning ride & "Challenge Tour" registration.
Tue 20th Jan - Ride & view TDU stage 1 - Norwood - Mawson Lakes.
Wed 21st Jan - Ride & view TDU stage 2 - Hahndorf - Stirling.
Thu 22nd Jan - Ride & view TDU stage 3 - Unley - Victor Harbour.
Fri 23rd Jan - "Mutual Community Challenge" &/or view TDU stage 4 - Burnside Village - Angaston (143km).
Sat 24th Jan - Ride & view TDU stage 5 - Snapper Point - Willunga.
Sun 25th Jan - Depart Adelaide and/or view final stage TDU stage 6, Adelaide City Council Street Circuit.
